THE RHYTHM OF THE COAST
"What would you think of the heavens where the stars were all arranged at even intervals in concentric circles? Would you like to go out at night and see that? No, we like the stars scattered as they are, and we also like to see when the waves break on the shore the patterns of foam. And you know, the funny thing is, you can look at those patterns hour after hour and realize that they never make an aesthetic mistake, never."
- ALAN WATTS
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
THE ART OF THE UNPREDICTABLE
We believe the most beautiful environments are the ones that feel lived-in and deeply rooted, where vines and heirloom blooms ramble naturally toward the salt air. At Garden Party, our work is about capturing that specific, romantic intersection of heritage and the sea. We move beyond the stiff structures and predictable coastal clichés, opting instead for the effortless elegance of a garden that feels like it has always belonged to the shore.

"Everything arranged symmetrically and in an ordered way, we understand and we feel safe there, but we don’t like it. It’s confining. Everything purely chaotic we can’t make out at all. But there’s somewhere a middle ground in relation to whatever degree of complexity of the human nervous system has attained. There is a middle ground we feel comfortable in, because it’s orderly and yet at the same time it contains an element of excitement and unpredictability. And the balance of these two things is what we call the good life.
...To be completely safe is to be completely dead."
- ALAN WATTS

We build our designs in that middle ground where luxury feels like a breath of fresh air, orderly enough to feel safe, yet unpredictable enough to stay fascinating. We don't believe in "perfect" symmetry; we believe in the perfection of nature. Like the scatter of stars or the pattern of foam on the shore, we design with a deliberate spontaneity that feels right to the soul.

This is the heart of our design. We provide the "order" through professional execution and technical mastery, but we leave room for "excitement", the wild vine, the leaning stem, the unexpected color. We build our designs in that middle ground where luxury feels like a discovery.

OUR VALUES
ATMOSPHERIC INTENT
We prioritize a specific "mood" over a simple color palette, ensuring every botanical choice is designed to evoke a feeling.

RHYTHMIC SEASONALITY
We work in harmony with the Cape’s natural cycle, sourcing blooms at their absolute peak of expression.

BOUTIQUE DEVOTION
We intentionally limit our calendar to just one wedding per weekend to ensure your vision receives our full, meticulous attention.

THE CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP: ELIZABETH + JESSE
We are a husband-and-wife team driven by the belief that your wedding should feel like a discovery, not a repeat. We don’t just arrange flowers; we are storytellers who design by feeling.

Jesse | The Technical Mastery
A Cape Cod native with homegrown expertise, Jesse is the engine behind our most ambitious builds, allowing our designs to push boundaries while remaining grounded in the soul of the Cape.

THE COASTAL CANVAS
Our inspiration often comes from the quiet corners of the Cape and the iconic landscapes we frequent:
The Iconic Waterfronts: We find endless inspiration in the seaside elegance of Wychmere Beach Club, the grand lawns of Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, and the timeless, stately heritage of Wianno and Chatham Bars Inn.
Hidden Gems: From the silver-shingled charm of The Dennis Inn and the elevated vibes at Pelham House Resort, to the refined, manicured beauty of Willowbend, we love venues that offer a unique sense of discovery.

THE ART OF THE CONTROLLED ACCIDENT
"Let’s take one of the very greatest of Western musicians, J.S. Bach. To our ears he appears symmetrical, orderly, stately. But every so often, Bach actually introduces a trick. He has a wonderful control of dissonances. He lets things happen and so combines his formality with little touches of informality. Just little touches, just a bit. So much salt in the stew and keeps you constantly fascinated.
In painters, say, let’s take Chinese calligraphy…very, very strictly disciplined in formal art. But what they love is a real master calligrapher allows accidents to happen. His brush runs dry suddenly and you get a sweeping of a line like a horse’s tail…And there’s a kind of interesting texture, an interesting dynamic pattern. In that which is much appreciated…It livens the whole thing up. So they call this the art of the controlled accident.
You see, the element in an artist which differentiates a very competent technician from an inspired master is that an inspired master is first of all a competent technician. And then he lets go of himself, and allows things to happen beyond his control. But he introduces elements beyond his control into the context that he has under control. So he can show you something that is a mess, but he’s put it in the context that makes it look marvelous."
- ALAN WATTS
TECHNICAL MASTERY IS ONLY THE FOUNDATION. WE DESIGN FOR THE MOMENT WHERE STRUCTURE MEETS SPONTANEITY: THE UNEXPECTED VINE, THE LEANING STEM, AND THE INSPIRED MOMENTS THAT ONLY HAPPEN WHEN YOU’RE BRAVE ENOUGH TO LET GO.
We design for the host who understands that the most memorable beauty isn't found in perfect symmetry, but in the intentional, inspired moments that bring a space to life. Let’s create something marvelous together.
